Does it show under jeans?

No. Jeans are the easiest thing to wear it under, because denim is thick and structured and it hides everything. I filmed this one with my jeans on and off so you could see the difference, and the waistband sits flat. No roll spilling over the top, no line across the back pockets.

The back is the part I would actually check if I were you, because that is where cheap shapewear gives itself away with a hard horizontal line across the seat.

What about under thin or clingy fabric?

This is where I want to be honest with you. Under a slip dress, a thin ribbed knit, or anything satin, a zip front can read as a faint vertical line if the light hits you the wrong way.
