My verdict
The zip front is the reason this one disappears instead of printing through. Inner hooks do the holding and the zip closes flat over them, so there is no ridge up the middle, and the seamless body means no side seam to show through denim. Under jeans, trousers, knits and anything with structure you will not see it. Under satin or a thin ribbed knit a zip front can read as a faint vertical line, which is true of every zip-front shaper and worth knowing before you buy. It is everyday smoothing, not post surgical compression, and it is not pretending to be.
How I use it
- Step in and pull it up to the waist first, hook the inner row, then zip. Doing it in that order is what stops the fabric bunching.
- Smooth the leg openings down flat before you put trousers on, so there is no edge to print through.
- Under denim and structured fabrics without thinking about it. Under satin, check yourself in daylight first.
- Unsnap the crotch rather than taking the whole thing off, which is the reason I can wear it all day.
