Anua Retinol Caffeine Eye Cream review: how I actually use it
Retinol Caffeine Eye Cream. Retinol 0.1% + caffeine targets dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines without irritation.
My verdict
I keep this in my under-eye rotation because it is one of the gentler ways to get retinol near the eye area. On me it feels light, sinks in fast and layers under concealer without pilling. I have not filmed a full before and after with it, so take this as what it is and who it suits, not a results promise.
How I use it
- Last step at night, after serum and moisturizer.
- Half a grain of rice per eye, tapped in with my ring finger.
- Two or three nights a week to start, nightly once there is no dryness.
- SPF every morning. Retinol and sun do not mix.
Who this is for
Anyone who wants to start retinol around the eyes without the sting, or who wakes up puffy and wants caffeine in the same step.
Who this is not for
If the skin under your eyes is already dry or irritated, or you are on tretinoin or another prescription retinoid, skip it or ask your derm first. Not a daytime product.
Questions I get about it
Can I use the Anua eye cream every night?
Work up to it. It is a low 0.1% retinol, but I would still start a few nights a week and watch for flaking before going nightly.
Does it help dark circles?
Caffeine can make the area look less puffy short term and retinol supports smoother looking skin over time. Results vary, and it is not a fix for shadows that come from genetics or lack of sleep.
Can it go under concealer?
It is light enough that it will not pill if you wait a minute, but I keep it as a night step and use a plain eye cream in the morning.
