medicube Kojic Acid Turmeric Pad review: the step I would keep if I could only keep one
Kojic Acid Turmeric Clarifying Pad. Kojic acid, turmeric, niacinamide and glycolic acid on a 70 count toner pad. The one I use on the spots that are already there, face or body.
My verdict
This is the piece of the Smooth and Clear routine I actually reach for, and the one I would tell you to start with if you do not want to buy a whole set. Kojic acid and turmeric with niacinamide and glycolic acid on a soaked pad, seventy in a jar. I use it on the spots I care about rather than swiping it over everything, which makes the jar last and keeps the acids off skin that does not need them. It works on the look of uneven tone over weeks. Anyone selling you a week is selling you something.
How I use it
- Clean, dry skin. Straight out of the shower once you have patted dry.
- One pad, on the actual area, not a full body swipe. Underarms, inner elbows, wherever your spots are.
- Daily is fine for me on the underarms. Start every other day if you have never used an acid on your body.
- Leave it to dry, do not rinse it off.
- Never on the same day as a fresh shave. Wait about twenty four hours.
- Patch test one small spot first and give it a day before you commit.
Who this is for
Uneven tone from friction and buildup, dark underarms, inner thighs, anyone who wants the cheapest honest entry point into this routine.
Who this is not for
Freshly shaved skin, broken skin, active irritation, or anyone expecting their natural skin tone to change. It evens out an area, it does not lighten you. If the darkness came on fast, feels thickened or velvety, or arrived with other changes, see a doctor instead of buying this.
Questions I get about it
Can I use this on my face?
The listing is written for face and body and the format is a toner pad, so yes. I mostly use it on body spots because that is where my uneven tone is. Go slower on the face and do not stack it with other acids the same night.
How often should I actually use it?
Daily on the spot works for me. If your skin is new to acids, every other day for the first couple of weeks is the smarter start. More is not faster here.
Is this the same as the Zero Pore Pad?
No, and people mix them up constantly. The Zero Pore Pad is AHA and BHA for pores and texture. This one is kojic acid and turmeric and it is aimed at the look of uneven tone. Different jobs, same jar shape.
